Types of Chemical Injection QuillsWhat are Chemical Injection Quills? Chemical Injection Quills are used to inject chemicals pumped by metering pumps into the turbulent flow zone of high pressure water or steam lines. Boiler Chemicals require an injection quill to disperse the chemical directly into the water stream or into the center of a feed water tank or deaerator. For more inform information, download the product bulletin.
What pressure can Chemical Injection Quills be used to? Stainless Steel and Carpenter 20-Cb3 can be used to 3,000 psi. PVC and Kynar Chemical Injection Quills can be used to 150 psi.

What is s Check Valve? Optional Spring loaded check valves are available on each injection quill. A Check valve will prevent chemical back flow of the product. If you are injecting into any pressure we always recommend a check valve, even if you already have one in place.
What materials do the Injection Quills come in? PVC, Kynar, 316 stainless steel and Carpenter 20-Cb3 materials.
What length size do you recommend? Ideally, you should inject the chemical toward the center of the pipe of fluid. This allows for a chemical good distribution. For lines smaller than 4" diameter, trim quill so chemical is released near center of line. Use as is for lines over 4" diameter. Install with “Telltale” V-notch facing upstream so flow strikes angled face at end of quill for most rapid dispersal of injected chemical.
What other items need to be installed with the injection quill? For maintenance ease, installation of an isolation valve, rated above line operating pressure, immediately behind the quill is recommended.
