Boiler Alkalinity

ChemWorld 1325 and 1425 are high concentrations of Sodium / Potassium Hydroxide solutions.
  • ChemWorld 1325 is a 50% solution. Each ppm of product contributes 0.63 ppm of alkalinity as CaCO3.
  • ChemWorld 1425 is a 25% solution. Each ppm of product contributes 0.31 ppm of alkalinity as CaCO3.
Steam boilers require a higher pH. Higher pH ranges:
  • Minimize corrosion to the boiler tubes.
  • Minimizes Silica plating tendencies in high pressure boilers.
  • Ensures the polymer can properly function at keeping hardness in solution for blowdown.
This product is commonly used in mid to large steam boilers to increase the boiler water pH. Consider using pH water strips or alkalinity test kits to monitor the boiler water pH.

This product should be fed into the storage section of the DA tank or near the center of the feed water tank with a chemical injection quill. When operating a steam boiler we always recommend using a boiler conductivity controller with a Neptune Metering Pump in order to prepay pump and control your to water usage and to reduce energy costs.
