Frequently Asked Questions
- We are currently evaluating defoamer products for a wide range of wastewater treatment applications and are interested in testing water-soluble, non-oil-based formulations. Our work involves treating a variety of wastewater streams, including oil and gas produced water, food and beverage wastewater, and other industrial process waters.
In previous evaluations, we found that some defoamers (silica and oil based) tended to leave a coating or residue within our equipment, which negatively impacted system performance. As a result, we are particularly interested in products that provide effective foam control while minimizing fouling, buildup, or coating of treatment equipment. We normally operate under neutral pH conditions, room temperature, and porous membranes.
- Chemworld Defoam W-10 is a non-oil, non-silicone water-based defoamer. It is typically used in applications where oil or silicone is undesired.
Defoam W-10 is a general purpose, NPE-free, non-silicone, water-based defoamer designed to minimize foam in water treatment, chemical processing, and other applications. Defoam W-10 is effective at pH ranges from 4.0 – 10.0 and at temperatures from 45°F to 140°F. It minimizes entrained air as well as surface foam. Defoam W-10 is an unusually low-viscosity, water-based defoamer and requires intermittent mixing to prevent slight bottom separation. May be added neat or diluted with water.
- Is the Water Based Defoamer silicon free?
- Yes Chemworld W-10 Defoamer is silicon and oil free.
- Can I use water based Defoamer one for food applications?
- Our Water Based Defoamer is not food grade. We recommend our Defoam SF for all applications that require a Food Grade Antifoam chemical.
